This kit has been prepared by Fairfield City Council to explain the steps involved in organising a community-based arts project. This kit will:

• Help you in planning all aspects of a community-based arts project, from start to finish

• Explain the relationships between Fairfield City Council, communities, organisations and artists

• Highlight any issues you may face in preparing your project

• Assist you in working with Council or organisations outside of Council – many of the same procedures apply.

Fairfield organisations and groups have created many successful arts-based projects over a number of years. We hope this kit makes the process easier to develop many more in the future.
